Dear Pauline,
Please find below a reply that I have received after asking officers to look
into your concerns about noise from the harbour construction.
I will hopefully receive a further update when noise control measures are
agreed which I will be sure to pass on.
If I can help with anything else, please let me know.
Regards,
Michael

In relation to the above enquiry Environmental Health are currently is
discussion with the Harbour construction company in relation to noise control
from construction activities.
It is understood that there will be phases of marine construction work
undertaken 24 hours a day 7 days a week during favourable weather windows. The
first phase is proposed to be the creation of the north quay between May and
September 2017.
The construction company has detailed noise mitigation measures and
Environmental Health are currently awaiting clarification on several matters
following a review of the proposed construction and environmental management
plan.
In relation to dust the contractor has detailed some of the main control
methods that will be used to minimise release of dust into the air.

Subject: Fwd: Apologies
Dear Sir/Madam,
Please find below an email that I have received from the secretary of
Castlehill and Pittodrie Community Council.
Would it be possible to find out about whether officers foresee any noise
issues for Fittie from the new Harbour Development and what restrictions will
be in place to mitigate the noise from construction work?
At the meeting, there was also a question raised about air quality and dust. I
would welcome any comments that you could offer about this too.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Michael Hutchison

Hello again,
Apologies, but I am not up to attending tonight's meeting.
However, I'd like to add an item to the agenda:
The potential noise from 24 hour a day working/blasting/pile driving at the new
harbour development will impact significantly on the peace, sleep, health and
wellbeing of Fittie residents. All noise from Torry/Girdleness/Balnagask
carries over the narrow strip of sea to Fittie. Can Councillor's prevent 24hr
working so that we can get sleep?
Kind regards,
Pauline
