Good afternoon Pauline and everyone,
Fittie Bar
It is good to know that the Fittie Bar is still thriving and successful, and
hopefully will be able to build on this with the outdoor seating application. I
would also very much agree that from experience of the Fittie Bar, it is and
has always been very respectful and supportive of the culture and community of
Fittie. I have also never known of the Fittie Bar to promote high volume or
excess consumption of alcohol, and instead encourages reasonable amounts at
reasonable prices as a standard which other premises could, and I believe
should follow.
Silver Darling
If it would be possible to confirm with the Licensing Department / Team,
William as to whether there has been any applications received from the Silver
Darling?
Licensing Information
It looks like there may still have been some issues with Licensing Department /
Team sending out information, as even the information being sent to Pauline as
Secretary appears to be only every so often, as compared to a consistent list
of updates.
In addition, there should also be the inclusion of William to the Licensing
Updates as and when they are sent as designated Licensing Liaison.
There have also been reports from other Community Councils throughout the city
of experiencing a very similar inconsistency of information from the Licensing
Department / Team and so this is something that needs to change in how they
distribute information.
-
If I can be of any assistance or support in contacting the Licensing Team to
request that we receive more up to date information on an ongoing basis, you
are very welcome to let me know William.
I would also recommend that we take this forward before the end of the week
ahead, William to ensure that no information or applications pass without our
being notified as Statutory Consultees, as we and all Community Councils should
be, in accordance with national legislation.
-
Sincerely,
Jonathan

Subject: [cpcc-committee] Licensing matter
Good afternoon,
I'm on holiday just now but thought I should flag up a couple of licencing
matters to keep a look out for.
- Apparently, the Silver Darling has applied for outdoor drinking license.
Heard that Harbour Board have not given permission. ( Hurray for common sense)
Questions:
-Is this true?
-Will this request now come to City Council?
-The Fittie Bar has applied for a license to take drinks outside to tables in
hot weather.
As a historical well-run business that caters for the working Harbour
population and serves appetising and affordable meals, I think this is a
reasonable request.
The business is in the shipbuilding area, not in a residential area.
Not causing obstruction to anyone.
The Fittie bar hosted the CPCC for many years at no cost. We were made welcome.
See you all after summer hols.
