The Clarendon Ave entrance is easier for vehicles but it is also much easier for bicycles and tired knees.  The Cliff St entrance is probably the shortest route (except for the path behind the Capitol) but it is a steep street.  I will probably use the Spring St access because of the parking availability at the bottom.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all prepared for Field Day this weekend--it promises to be lots of fun.

I got the key to the gates in Hubbard Park this morning from Geoff Beyer.  He asks that we use the gate which is located at the end of Hubbard Park drive for vehicular access to the park for set-up.  You get to this gate by driving up Bailey Avenue (near the Statehouse) and make a left turn on Clarendon Avenue.  You then take a right turn on Hubbard Park Drive (two long blocks from Bailey Avenue) and drive to the end of this road.  The gate is directly in front of you.  Once past the gate, take a right turn on the park road and proceed until you get to the tower.  We will put up some signs on Friday so it will be easier to find.

If you are not ferrying equipment, it is actually closer and easier to get to the tower if you enter Hubbard Park from the Spring Street entrance.  Follow the signs to the base of the tower road.  You will have to walk past the gate near the bottom of the tower road and wind your way up the hill to the tower.  Again, we will put up some signs to make it easier to find.  Geoff does not want us to use this entrance because it is much steeper and our vehicles may do damage to the dirt road.  After we get the gear and antennas set up, I plan to use this entrance to the tower since it is in easy walking distance to my home.  There is also more parking near the field where people exercise their dogs.
