Dear Chris,I hope you don't mind my quoting a bit from this letter in the
QFQ. I am realizing that there is more to Field Days than planning the event,
setting up, doing it, and taking it down.
It turns out that there is also intense paperwork for the ARRL! Good on you for
taking on so much. All the best,Jess

Subject: [CVARC] Field Day Log Submission
Hello friends of CVARC,
I think we can safely say that was one of the most successful CVARC Field days
in recent memory. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did, and are all looking
forward to more operating events in the future.
I wanted to provide everyone with an update regarding the submission of our
logs to the ARRL. So far, I have been going through and making corrections to
the master log file as needed. For instance, some sections were entered in the
class box and visa versa. Once this is done, I will compile the "Cabrillo" file
to send to the ARRL. Contained within this file will be a record of our
contacts, claimed bonus points, GOTA operators and other pertinent information.
Along with the Cabrillo file, we must submit proof for some of our claimed
bonus points. Examples include: pictures proving we were in a public location,
copies of front porch forum ads, sign in sheets etc. If anyone has ANYTHING
they think may be of use, please email them my way; I'd rather have too much
than not enough. Did we ever end up sending a press release to the Times Argus
or other local newspaper? If so, I need a copy of those correspondence, or a
copy of the press release.
Bonus points I will be submitting for on behalf of CVARC:- 100% Emergency
Power- Media Publicity (Maybe?)- Public Location- Five Natural Power QSOs -
Solar charged batteries- Social Media (I've emailed Front Porch Forum to see if
they classify themselves as "Social Media")
Each of these carries 100 bonus points.
Unfortunately, because we were unable to obtain the minimum of 20 contacts on
the GOTA station, we do not get a bonus for its operation.
As of now, it appears we will have somewhere in the range of 5,000 points,
depending on log accuracy etc. I have attached some JPEG image screenshots from
the logging software showing some preliminary statistics. We made over 1,900
contacts, in all 50 states. The only ARRL section we did not make contact with
was the Northern Territories of Canada.
If you have anything to submit to me to include to the ARRL, please submit them
to me by Wednesday, July 5th at 12:00 - I will be clicking "send" on our
submission at that time (Deadline is 7/25). Please let me know if you have any
questions or concerns.Once again, Thank you everyone for all of your hard work
and continued dedication!
