No surprise, but they will make more! Ham have no patience. :-)
I have no plans to run out and buy one (too many radios already), but I am glad
to see that they are offering new products in the moderate-cost range. I was
worried there for a while that the progression of K3, KX3, K3S was just going
to go higher and higher and more and more niche, leaving out the majority of
"normal" hams.
But the KX2 looks like the right mix of features and price-point to bring a lot
of new people into the Elecraft fold. It's not limited to CW, which gets you
beyond the K1 and KX1 limitations, but doesn't require spending at K3S/KX3
levels to play.
