Hi Mike: I will listen for you again. I attended your presentation on your
station at the Burlington meet. Very impressive. I have a much more modest
set up here. I have a 2 meter/440 vertical about 30 feet up with a small 2
meter beam pointed SE. I have a 133 ft end fed HF antenna and a set of egg
beaters for LEO SAT work.
Thanks, Bernie KC1EKV Proud Supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project

Hi Bernie,I'll listen for you Sunday night. Should be easy now that I know
where you are. My system is a 5 el C3i (~30 degrees beamwidth) up about 48' and
using an ANAN-100 SDR driving an ACOM-1000 at about 750 watts. My site is at
2100'. 12 miles North of Burke Mtn. FN44arW1AIM has more power/antenna than I,
but I have the SDR :-} So I can actually see signals that are too low to hear
until peaked up.Actually, if anyone wants to try 6/2, I'm heading back to my
Camp for the Holiday later today and can get on most any time. On 2M, FO-12 at
60' with FT-736R driving a HB LDMOS kW. SSB mast mount preamp as well. I run
all bands through 3456 so far. (10 GHz is coming).I typically work in PA, NJ,
NY, MD, MA, CT etc easily on 2. ---

Subject: [CVARC] 6 meter test net
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 6 meter test nets on Sunday at
8:30 PM. We only had a few hams participating, but we found that coverage was
better than on 10 meters. I was able to work a couple of hams on 6 who were
difficult or impossible on 10. Next Sunday, November 26, we will again be
running an informal 6 meter test net again, this time on 50.220 MHz USB. The
net will begin at approximately 8:30 PM, after the CVARC net on
146.625/145.47/146.82 ends. Even if you don't have a 6 meter antenna, try
tuning up your existing antenna. Or think about putting up a 6 meter dipole;
it's only 10 feet long. We will run 6 meter nets for the next couple of Sunday
nights. Work everyone that you can, and send an email back to me letting me
know who you were able to reach and communicate with. As with the 10 meter net,
the purpose of this temporary net will be to see how well we can use 6 meter
SSB simplex to communicate across north central Vermont. Please join us, and
forward this to other hams in Vermont. 73,CathyN5WVR
