Hi Cathy,
Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I have been up to my ears in work the
past week or so. I am not a VE, but I would be willing to become one if
that is possible. I took my Extra exam in 1967, so I would enjoy seeing
what the new material looks like for my own education. I will look to see
what it takes to become a VE.
I think that I know what part of the problem is with 160 meters. My
doublet became a "singlet" over the winter. I have plans to put up a 550
foot loop and some dipoles this spring. I wonder if other people have
similar plans--we could organize an antenna raising party. As I mentioned
before, I built a pneumatic launcher a few years ago, and it work very
well. I also have a compressor in the garage.

Here's what I have for a current list of VE's:

So we need at least one more Extra-class VE to be safe, just in case one
of us can't make it at the last minute. There are quite a few up around
Burlington who might be willing to come down for this, especially since it
would be a one-time thing. Once we get more "home-grown" central Vermont
Extras, we can supply our own for future test sessions.
You could say that we need an extra Extra... :-)
