Conflict between Email Groups and Bigpond
Hi DB Aust members,
Our friends at Blind Citizens Australia are also experiencing difficulties and
issues with people who use Bigpond as their email provider and not seeing their
own messages in Email Groups like this group.
I am also aware that Tech guy Adam Morris, who runs various Australian
Blindness and Technology related email groups, is also having issues and
continues to work on solutions.
If you are a Bigpond user, I suggest you read the message below from John
Simpson from Blind Citizens Australia. It might be worth changing your email
provider if the problem persists, maybe Gmail or other providers.
Thanks.
Bye for now Erika WebbMODERATOR of Deafblind Australia email

ATTENTION BIGPOND USERS:
Good afternoon members,
Since BCA moved its various lists to the Groups IO Service I have noticed a
problem where I have not been receiving messages I have posted to any of the
lists. It has since come to light that messages I have posted from my Bigpond
email account have not been received directly by other Bigpond users.
After a fair amount of trial and error I have hopefully identified the problem.
If I access my mail through (Bigpond) the Telstra My Account Webmail Site I
can see that these messages are being directed to my junk mail folder and not
to my inbox. As such they have not been available through my Microsoft Outlook
2010 account or via my mobile phone.
I have now learned that for Groups IO mail sent from a Bigpond address to be
directed to my Outlook inbox I need to add them to the “Safe Senders” tab on
my Bigpond webmail account.
I have now tested this solution on all of the BCA lists I am subscribed to and
recommend that others try the same solution as follows:
· From your web browser go tohttps://www.my.telstra.com.au/myaccount/home;
· Log in using your email address and email account password;
· Open the Webmail tab on the right of screen and the webmail inbox will
be loaded;
· Open Settings (top right of screen) and then Mail in the list on the
left;
· Under Mail go to the Safe Sender tab (five down);
· You can then add the relevant Groups IO addresses as required;
· And don’t forget to log out of the Webmail to save your
additions/changes.
Please let me know if this solution works and please pass on this message to
OTHER Bigpond users.
