Hi Everyone I'm following up on previous messages about a list for people who are blind and also have a hearing impairment. Thanks to those who contacted me offlist expressing their interest in such a list. I have now set up a list on Freelists called Bhi-L. You're welcome to subscribe to it by sending a message to bhi-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word Subscribe in the subject line. You should receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription, and then you'll receive a Welcome email with a bit of general information. I'm the list administrator, but Freelists have apparently made changes that prevent administrators from manually subscribing people, so you will need to subscribe to the list yourself. Please understand that this list isn't intended to duplicate or replace other lists that focus on the needs and experiences of people who identify as deafblind (in the sense that they have no usable hearing). There seems to be a growing number of people who are blind and also have a hearing impairment that benefits from using a hearing aid or cochlear implant, and there doesn't seem to be an existing list where these topics can be suitably discussed in detail. Hence Bhi-L. Please feel free to subscribe or forward the subscription information to anyone you think may be interested. And please also contact me if you have any questions or if you encounter problems subscribing to or using the list. Cheers Bruce ....................................................
