behalf of our Executive Officer, Emma Bennison who is currently on leave as
well as the rest of the BCA team. As we close down the office for 2017, we
wanted to take the time to personally thank everyone who has contributed to our
work this year. Please know that your contributions are greatly valued and
appreciated. Below are just some of the ways in which you, our members have
supported us throughout 2017: · Assisting with the planning, coordination
or delivery of our 2017 national convention · Providing feedback to help
inform one or more of the 19 submissions our policy and advocacy team have
completed this year · Getting actively involved in our campaign work by
lobbying Senators, local MPs and other key decision-makers · Responding to
one or more of our surveys to help ensure our work is informed by the needs and
views of our members · Being interviewed on our weekly radio program, New
Horizons, quarterly audio magazine, Sound about or contributing to our twice
yearly newsletter, Blind Citizens News · Contributing to our work as a
Director, National Policy Council representative or branch President ·
Serving on the Committee of one of our local or special interest branches, or
actively participating in branch activities as a member · Providing
valuable peer support to others · Making a donation to help support our
work As a peak consumer body BCA is only as strong as its members and with
your help, we believe we have now successfully repositioned ourselves as the
representative voice of and for Australians who are blind or vision impaired.
It’s been an enjoyable journey and we couldn’t have done it without your
support and ongoing commitment to the organisation. We wish each and every
one of you a happy and enjoyable festive season. The BCA team looks forward to
hitting the ground running in 2018 and to working with many of you to advance
the rights of Australians who are blind or vision impaired as the new year
