Join us for the Audio Description and Tactile Tour of FOR THE LONELY on 6 May
2017 at 2:30pm. This event also marks exclusive unveiling of For the Lonely
Bringing tactile sculptural installations into the gallery to reflect on the
feeling of loneliness, seven Perth-based artists have created an
immersiveseries of intimate encounters and sensory interactions.FOR THE LONELY
is a deeply personal, introspective body of work rooted in the artists’
subjective experience of loneliness. The artists explore the often
unacknowledged yet communally shared weight of loneliness on the human
conscious. Step into a space where confrontation is welcomed and personal
connection celebrated. Audio Description enhances live performance and
visual art for people who are blind or vision impaired. In a ground-breaking
exhibition, artists in FOR THE LONELY have considered accessibility from the
conception of the exhibition, creating tactile installations and building audio
description into their performances. 3D-printed tactile elements will be
present in this exhibition to supplement the Audio Description and provide
hands-on interaction. WHEN Saturday 6 May 2017, 4:00pm WHERE PS ART
