                Same title, different authors.

The Library’s automatic allocation system is designed to only loans
books out to your record if they have not been loaned to you previously. So if
you receive a book with a title that you recognize, please remember to check to
see who the author is, as it should be someone different. For example, the
Library holds two books with the title “Archangel” – one by Gerald Seymour, the
other by Robert Harris.  If the second title is indeed a copy of the first,
please advise the Library of this error, either by contacting us or including a
note in with the book.

                Removal of Compact Discs.

The Library recently removed all Compact Discs from our collection, due
to their low number, low capacity, and limited demand. This means that Compact
Discs are no longer available for borrowing.

“Outback heroes : 75 years of the Royal Flying Doctor Service” by Kay
Batstone.

        Format: DAISY(AU 135748).

Australia, Outback heroes commemorates the rise of the RFDS from the vision of
its founder John Flynn, and pays tribute to the outback heroes who have been
involved with the RFDS during its long and remarkable history.

Reader Comments: “Kay Batstone’s book has brought to the attention of
its readers a great amount of information about the R.F.D.S. history. The
vision of Rev John Flynn demanded energy and courage on his part together with
the contribution from dozens of men and women over 75 years; is a truly
remarkable story which I have enjoyed. During my lifetime I have visited many
of the towns serviced by the R.F.D.S., but this book explains how very
important individuals contributions have been, over the years to provide urgent
medical services to those centres. I am pleased I have a more informed
understanding of the history of the R.F.D.S. and of its work today.”
