PerthTheatre Trust continues to provide its Audio Description Service to
patrons forthe forthcoming production by Bell Shakespeare's The Merchant of
Venice.
Justto confirm, the performance will take place at State Theatre Centre of WA.

Lovealso plays a part. Portia offers it. Bassanio wants it. And Antonio may
lose apound of flesh for it.
Thisuncompromising and dark production explores the tense relationship
andprejudices between those that have, and those that don’t. Dark in its
humourand bawdy in its romantic hijinks, The Merchant Of Venice takes audiences
on ajourney of love, mercy and justice.
Featuringthree time Helpmann Award winner, Mitchell Butel (Janet King and Rake)
as thedefiant Shylock, and Jessica Tovey (Wolf Creek and Wonderland) as Portia,
theproduction will be directed by Anne-Louise Sarks (Belvoir’s Jasper Jones
andMedea), this masterfully envisioned production tackles the prejudices
andpreconceived notions of one of Shakespeare’s most challenging plays.

ABOUTTHE AUDIO DESCRIPTION SERVICE
Audiodescription brings the visual elements of theatre to life for audience
memberswho are blind or vision impaired. Costumes, sets, action and other
non-verbalelements are described during breaks in the dialogue through a small
earpiece,adding depth and detail to your next theatre experience.
Theaudio description starts 10 minutes before the show so that the set can
bedescribed or sections of the programme read to you.

Youmust advise the booking agent that you require an audio described service

descriptionbegins.
