Perth City Link - Transperth - Changes at Perth Station August 2012 until late 2013 Two scheduled disruptions occurring at Perth Station as part of the Perth City Link project: · Perth Station closure Friday, 17 August until Monday, 20 August· Perth Station layout change from 20 August until late 2013 Here are the details. From 17-19 Aug• By closing Platform 9, a significant section of Perth Station is made available to:o build the new tunnel, including where it slopes down from the Horseshoe Bridgeo create Platform 8/9 by installing new tracks on the Roe Street side of Platform 9 (Midland Line), which also go under the Barrack Street Bridge o build the pedestrian underpass from Platform 7 to Platform 8/9 Perth Station closed: 10:30am Friday, 17 August until Monday, 20 August• There will be no access to platforms in Perth Station during this weekend.• Perth Underground will be open but must exit through Murray Street, no access under Horseshoe Bridge through to Wellington Street/Bus Station.• Eastern Concourse and Horseshoe Bridge will be open.• Train impacts include:o Fremantle Line will end at West Leederville Stationo Midland Line will end at Claisebrook Stationo Armadale Line will end at Claisebrook Stationo Thornlie Line will close with bus replacement from Cannington Station (from Cannington train to Claisebrook Station)o No impact to Mandurah and Joondalup Lines• A CAT-style bus service will loop from Claisebrook to West Leederville via Perth Station, with bus replacement stops at:o Claisebrook Station: Fielder Streeto Perth Station (continuing to West Leederville Station): Roe Street, west of William Streeto City West Station: Roe Streeto West Leederville Stationo City West Station: Harbour Town, Wellington Streeto Perth Station (continuing to Claisebrook Station): Wellington Street, in front of Wellington Street Bus Station• No rail replacement at McIver Station.• There will be two maxi taxis on standby over the weekend – the best option is to avoid using the bus replacement services and phone 1800 800 022 to arrange for the taxi to collect you at West Leederville or Claisebrook. Perth Station layout change from 20 August – late-2013• Major change to layout with Platform 9 (Midland Line) closed:o Fremantle Line - depart from Platform 5 and arrives on Platform 6o Midland Line - arrive and depart from Platform 7o Armadale Line - depart from Platform 6 and continues to arrive on Platform 5 o Thornlie, Mandurah and Joondalup Line – no change• Midland Line becomes a terminating service in Perth Station.• Fremantle and Armadale Lines become through services.• Will mean some changes to train and feeder bus timetables.• Street access from Roe Street will close and NOT be reopened. • On the morning of Monday 20 August there will be additional staff in uniform of the line colours helping to direct people to the new platforms (refer to Michael at Transperth).• With Platform 9 closed, there will be no trains arriving/departing from the Roe Street side of Perth Station; the only service on this side will be the Transit Guards Office.• All other trains will arrive/depart from Platforms 4, 5, 6, & 7, with access into Perth Station from Wellington Street.• Alternatively accessible access is available through the Cultural Centre, Roe Street car park and from Barrack Street Bridge (mid-October 2012).• When the Fremantle Line is underground, accessible access is available through the new City Square space and onto Platform 5. Communication• Any change which affects accessibility during the project will be communicated via the Transperth TravelEasy email system.
