Hi David Squirrell here from the DB national board. At our recent planning
conference we all took on tasks & one of mine was a database of members &
some information that would help us in planning & lobbying.
I realize not all have access to email & I would ask that a person in each
state takes on communicating with members who don't use a computer & passing
the answers on to me so that we can build up a picture of what our members
needs are.
The areas I would like answers in are
Your Name & year of birth
Email or preferred method of contact (large print. Cd, braille, email etc)
Address - street, suburb, postcode, state
Area of expertise that could be offered
Age onset vision loss
Age onset hearing loss
Communication method mainly used
NDIS approved if under 65
Mobile phone - If mobile used - sms , voice mail, talk preference
Other communication assistive technology you use
Home phone
position held with DB (state or national)
If still in the workforce what role do you have
I would also ask as to
Areas of concern you would like some assistance with (NDIS, MAC, Other) or
project areas you would like us to look at so we can consider.
I thank you & I would like to have responses as soon as possible so that we
can plan ahead & develop plans to represent our members. The database will
be kept at my home & with David Murray so confidential.
David
