[on behalf of Joseph Jay Williams]

*An AIED workshop on Sat June 23 focuses on the collaborative design of
randomized experiments in digital educational environments. For example,
experiments in online problems can test alternative motivational messages,
prompts to reflect, and hints/explanations. We will design experiments that
can be deployed with teachers in K12 settings (like ASSISTments),
university courses, and MOOCs.Participants will also learn about methods
from statistical machine learning, for dynamically using data from
experiments to enhance and personalize the experience for future students.
We will discuss the pros and cons of these methods, and consider when and
how to make them useful for instructors and researchers.*

*The workshop website is at tiny.cc/edexpt <http://tiny.cc/edexpt>. If you
are interested, please send an email as soon as possible to
aied2018experiments@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<aied2018experiments@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>.*

*We will follow up to your email with more information about submissions.
(Feel free to include your website or a link to your papers, and any other
information about why you're interested or what you might like to get out
of the workshop.) *
