Seth Corrigan http://www.instituteofplay.org/about/jobs/glasslab-data-mining-specialist/ Here is the blurb describing the position: POSITION SUMMARY The Data Mining Specialist will have a passion and interest in studying student behavior in educational video games designed for purchase and implementation across the national market. The Data Mining Specialist will work closely with GlassLab’s partners at Pearson Analytics and the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to employ and develop GlassLab’s expertise in educational data mining, Bayesian network analysis and item response modeling to understand how to improve GlassLab products. Specifically, she or he will analyze data from video games treating math, science, argumentation and English language arts in order to study and make inferences about student learning. GlassLab is currently prioritizing the use of data mining to support more accurate inferences about student knowledge, student learning, and to make game based systems more responsive to students’ needs.
