Hi,
MOOCs generate a mess of data. Folks (like edX head, Anant Agarwal) humbly
declare that moocs, specifically their platform, are the "particle
accelerator of learning" . Personally, I think that's well over-stated, but
hey, nuanced reflection doesn't generate media headlines.
Regardless, moocs provide a scale of data that makes them appealing
for analysts/researchers/academics/administrators.
This research initiative may be of interest to members of this list:

large ($10-25k), but the application process is fairly simple (1-2 pages to
start, timeline is tight).
