Join scholars from the fields of cognitive science, education, machine
learning, and beyond at the 2015 Personalized Learning Workshop at Rice
University in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, April 1.

The theme of this year’s workshop is structured around two topics that are
critical to personalized learning.

The first topic is assessment — how do we know what a student knows? What
are the various techniques for assessing and modeling student knowledge?
How can we accurately identify the various gaps and misconceptions in a
student’s knowledge?

The second topic is treatment — what is the best course of action for
addressing the gaps and misconceptions in knowledge once they have been
identified?

Confirmed speakers for 2015 include Art Graesser, University of Memphis;
Michelene Chi, Arizona State University; Philip Pavlik, University of
Memphis; Jonathan Huang, Google; and Emma Brunskill, Carnegie Mellon
University.
