Wonder: E17 Art Trail 2019 First network meeting in preparation for the next E17 Art Trail

  What makes you Wonder?

Hello,

It’s been a while!

But we are back to school with an E17 Art Trail announcement introducing the festival theme and our first network meetings.

We’ve been extremely busy getting lots of exciting projects underway in the office. We have an enormous programme to deliver over the next 14 months and hope as many of you can be involved as possible.

*Artillery’s programme of activities is shaping up so far with:*

  *

    *From Page to Pavement *
Our ambitious Borough of Culture project starting now until October 2019

  *

    *E17 Art Trail*
    Festival Dates 1-16 June 2019

  *

    *Walthamstow Garden Party*
    July 2019

*The E17 Art Trail Festival Theme: *

*Wonder {of Art & Science}*

For 2019 we are inviting you to wonder.

The theme is just a starting point and you can of course do your own thing too.

In 2017 the E17 Art Trail championed the relationships between art and the STEM subjects, Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. We realised that, having just embarked on this subject area together and started building exciting new partnerships, we could allow for ongoing exploration and more involved projects this time focusing in on science and art in particular. What makes us wonder and is wonder one of the things that compels humans to make art?

*E17 Art Trail network meetings:*

Monday 17 September, 7-9pm
Monday 1 October, 7-9pm
Venue: Hornbeam Centre, 458 Hoe Street, Walthamstow E17 9AH

Please book a place to let us know you’re coming.

At these meetings we aim to give artists and organisations the opportunity to develop ideas and make links with others especially those considering making funding applications for their events. We may be able to suggest collaborators, venues, different approaches etc. and there is a wealth of knowledge amongst you to share.

If you can’t attend these first two meetings there will be many more opportunities to get involved in the coming months and meetings will be held on different days and at different times.

We will host practical sessions for general information on how to take part and to list your events in the E17 Art Trail programme.

You can expect to register your events as part of the festival programme from January with a deadline early in March.

*Your Ideas*
Do let us know what you are working towards via the following form - it assists us to build up a picture of what the festival will look like ahead of the registration deadline and plan accordingly.

Best wishes Laura and Morag.
