Don't know if any of you (especially the Brits) have heard of Catherine Tate. Apparently she is a wildy popular British comic whose speciality is appearing in sketches as "Loren" an English "frecha" school pupil in various classes. Here is a link to a sketch with the English class which some of you might appreciate. Great for any of you who plan to teach one of Shakespeare's sonnets. For those who are not "in the know", the actor plays "Dr Who", a time traveling scientist, in a sci-fi series that has been running for about 30 years in the UK - changing the actor who plays the main character from time to time. If you enjoy it - check out her other clips on Youtube, she has something similar with a chemistry and French teacher. I couldn't believe how she speaks to the Queen in the royal command performance....breaks all the "taboos". http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WxB1gB6K-2A Not the most highbrow entertainment I've seen but certainly interesting as a comment on British society these days. Best wishes, Judi G.
