Dear Colleagues
The pen pushers are finally going to kill us all off. I have  just read
that English teachers now have to fill in forms for the School committee
for accommodations level 1 and 2 that is apart from the forms for level 3
which have to be sent to the Min of Education.
What is going on at the Ministry? Have they no trust what so ever in the
school counsellors and other teachers?
Why on earth is giving a kid extra time for an exam on the basis of a
professional didactic assessment such a big deal? What will happen if every
kid got it. Absolutely nothing at all. In fact the exact opposite it will
help a lot of kids to deal with exams in a better way.
More bureaucratic nonsense from a ministry that obviously has no idea what
is going on at the "front". Need I say more than the word HOTS to prove a
point (not going there).
Instead of freeing up teachers to do what they are being paid for and that
is to teach we are being turned into pen pushers and expected to do both at
the same time.
I have a feeling that some of the men and women at the ministry have been
watching too much of the excellent "Yes Minister" television series.
