In her message, Aviva says a kid needs TWO evaluations to get an oral exam. This is slightly incorrect. In order to get an oral exam, the evaluation must be done by an educational psychologist who does both the didactic and the psychological evaluation. Therefore, if you think a kid needs an oral test, you should suggest that the evaluation be done by an educational psychologist who can give all types of accommodations including an oral test. Most regular LD kids do not need a psychological evaluation and the assessment done by a qualified and licensed didactic tester is sufficient. Also, if a kid is ADD / ADHD they may need to be evaluated by a neurologist as well.
