Hi All,
I?m sure I?m not the only one who found a very unpleasant surprise in my
cubby at school today. Perhaps you haven?t realized yet what hit you.
Here?s the story:
The Ministry has made a ruling that teachers will now have to produce a
special ?File? for each LD kid who applies for certain accomodations for
taking the Bagrut exam. You will find a link to the booklet of instructions
and explanations (20 pages in Hebrew ? pages 8-15 are the forms for English)
on the Min of Ed website under ?news?. The link is

English teachers require dozens of hours of work ? meetings with school
counselor, gathering information about the pupil and what other help they
have received, preparing different types of exams to test the same
information in different modes (oral, listening, with tapes, with
computers,? etc) , testing the pupils in these different modes, making
copies of each test, correcting them, analyzing the results, comparing the
results from different modes, and worst of all ? writing reports of what you
have observed .
I wrote a letter to Nurit Valenci (professional dept) Irgun Hamorim and
urge you to investigate and write to them (and Histadrut HaMorim) as well.
This is beyond the Last Straw!!
