[etni] Backwards from behind

Jo Schenck's backwards post (reversed below) reminded me that "pillar of
salt" is a euphemism for thrombosis.
Gen 19:17 "Escape [Heb: MaLaT] for thy life, do not look behind thee, and
do not stay in all the circuit/plain." ...
Gen 19:26 "But [Lot's] wife *looked back from behind* him, and she became a
pillar of salt."

This indicates that we should look backwards from behind the Hebrew phrase
NaTZiV MeLakH to understand what actually happened to Lot's wife.

For a more complete explanation, see my comments to James Harbeck's
Sesquiotica blog about "pipe dream" at
http://sesquiotic.wordpress.com/2012/09/20/pipe-dream/

The current Hebrew word for a stroke or thrombosis is shin-bet-tzadi where
the shin is a prefix meaning "due to, because of" and the bet-tzadi BoTZ is
the mud. Compare ToFaN = typhoon and SHiTaFoN = flood.

Subject: [etni] All My Sons final call
From: Jo Schenck <jogirl2008@xxxxxxxxx>

Dear Etniers,
The Guild's run of All My Sons is booked completely except for one date
which has opened. If any school wishes The Guild to bring All My Sons to
you during school hours, February 13th is the last date we have available.
We also do evening shows, for which we have only two dates left.

Again the requirements are 150 students minimum, 35 shekels per ticket,
(accompanying teachers are free) and a space to perform in. We provide the
rest including a chat with the actors afterwards.:)

Please let us know asap.

Sincerely,
Jo Schenck

PS Wishing you and your students a successful Winter Bagrut on Thursday..
