International Assessment Award

£1,000.

Assessment Research Grants

The Assessment Research Grants scheme is designed to contribute, together with
internal British Council research activities, to the validation of Aptis. The
research agenda upon which the grants are premised is based on the modified
socio-cognitive validation framework (Weir, 2005; O'Sullivan & Weir, 2011) and
will build a significant body of substantive evidence of the validity of Aptis.

Unlike other award schemes, the Aptis Research Grants will support projects
which are directly focused on Aptis or which are more exploratory in nature. In
this latter case, the proposer must demonstrate the potential impact on Aptis
(or on language assessment in a more general way) of their research. For this
reason, this call for proposals will focus both on areas of immediate interest
to Aptis and of a more general current interest.

Projects will be for a period of one year.

Applications close 10 January 2013
