Greetings Jimmy and the Critical Choir,

I hate to be such a nerd and actually support the establishment, but aside from 
the technical frustration of sections that were difficult to download, I found 
the course to be well-organized, stimulating, and inspiring.  Our instructor 
(Ellyn Marciano) gave us regular feedback and there was much positive dialogue 
between the participants.  One of my colleagues did the course with Aviva 
Shapiro and I heard much positive feedback about her course as well.

  The fact that it was not made clear that the program is geared primarily for 
the 5 pointers is a confusion that one could blame on the Ministry but not on 
the structure of the course itself.  Also, the fact that we were informed 
toward the end that the "personal response" section would be dropped shows if 
anything, that the Ministry is open and flexible, realizes that this is a 
program in the making and is ready to receive and respond seriously to feedback.

   There is no doubt that there is going to be more work involved, especially 
for those doing the journals, and that we deserve compensation.  But again, 
this says nothing about the course or the program.  In truth, the better part 
of the extra work will consist of our getting used to this new way of teaching. 
 Re-generating and re-designing our well established routines demands much 
energy.  But once that's done, the following years will flow.  If you recall, 
resistence was also great to the projects and not only have we gotten used to 
them, I think that most teachers find they have born themselves out.  That is, 
depending on what the teacher and/or students make of them, their learning 
potential is enormous.

As for the new lit program,  I find it a brave and interesting experiment that 
will challenge, invigorate and give new dignity to our profession, let alone to 
our students.
