This morning I went to a lecture by Dr. Shlomo Swirski of the ADVA Center -
information on equality and social justice in Israel - at Le'ada School in
Jerusalem. I must thank the organisers!
Dr. Shlomo Swirski was invited by active teachers to help provide an
understanding of how the Israeli budget is calculated so that we can better
understand how education can be given greater priority in the future. This
afterall, for me, is the key issue around which the present crisis revolves
(or should revolve). I have no background in economics , didn't understand
everything but found the lecture extremely illuminating. It was accompanied by
a powerpoint presentation

The subject of the lecture/powerpoint is "There is economic growth and a large
national income but there is a reduction of government expenditure"
(a rough translation).
