**** ETNI on the web http://www.etni.org.il http://www.etni.org **** Dear all, I really enjoyed the Summer ETAI Conference. Many of the sessions that I was able to attend were really inspiring for my teaching plan for next year . Moreover, they widely open my mind to number of our day to day issues: the opening session of Diane Larsen-Freeman "Understanding Language",and her talk about "Grammaring".I couldn't help comparing and contrasting in Phillip Yanella 's talk:"Nonviolent Social Change in American History".I was enlightened with Miriam Kluska's idea about building a Community of Learners ,followed by The Foreign Teaching the Foreign by Dror Abend-David .Marlene Erezand her Arab students strongly and beautifully introduce "Other Voices".Richard Curwin in all his session was extremely wonderful.I can go for ever expressing my excitement about what sessions I've attended, and regretting not attending the other sessions because of contradiction in time. One final word has to be said about the closing session of Elana Shohamy about "The effect of English language tests in the multilingual society of Israel" ;the talk rang many bells in my mind about a lot of our social and educational problems among the Arab sector in general and the teachers and their students in East Jerusalem in particular. I felt so sad that only very few Jerusalimite Arab teachers could make it for the conference. I was honored to meet the people behind "etni",and ETAI as well. I would like toexpress my deepest appreciation to all the hands and the minds that participated in the creation of this Magnificent Job.It was truly "Reaching Greater Heights in Language Teaching".
