Hello friends.
Last week Danny & I were privileged to meet Yeshai, a soldier who completed
3 months of basic training and an additional 2 weeks of intensive & creative
thinking methods of Professor Feuerstein, (at Chavat HaShomer base).
Yeshai is a High School dropout, who has had a difficult childhood. He is
now extremely passionate about getting ahead in his life and learning a
profession while serving in the IDF, to use upon completing his army
service. He has his heart set on joining a technical computer course (ממר"מ)
that starts in 4 months. Yeshai has been tested professionally – he is
bright and has a strong “knack” for languages. His current English skills
are minimal (his family is “haredi”- in his school they were not taught
English; when Yeshai transferred to a regular school, he never had an
opportunity to learn the language - the class was so far ahead). He has
been accepted to the course on condition that he learns English on a level
of passing the technical English test prior to the course start date. The
professionals are confident that with Yishai’s passion and language skills,
he will succeed.
We need a reliable & serious English tutor, preferably in the South, (near
Ofakim) urgently. If necessary, Yeshai will receive a subsidy to pay the
tutor. He has the material that he needs to learn in order to pass the
exam. Please advise if you know of someone who could tutor him, starting
immediately.
