Advice in English about behavior before, during and after a quake is
provided at

Videos of the recent quake in Nepal are available on the web.
For some classes, an activity about earthquakes may be appropriate.

From a linguistics viewpoint, I believe the toponym Nepal was derived from
Sanskrit nabhila (navel) and was the navel on a female anthropomorphic map
of Asia. Lebanon is probably a reversal of nabhila and is the navel on a
male map of Hermes in our part of the world. Various locations have been
considered to be "navels of the world" connecting the earthly infant with
its heavenly mother. The best known is Mt. Olympus (from Greek omphalos =
navel). Other navels include Mt. Hermon (kHoR = hole + MoSnaim = waist ?), Mt.
Nebo (where Moses was buried), Nubia, Har Tabor, Thebes (in both Greece &
Egypt), and Mexico (City), Nahuatl for 'navel of the moon'.
