Hi- April 10, 2007, Wednesday In case the Irgun teachers are raring to get their minds working on English again, I have a request for you: I am teaching with an adult student who is a candidate for the role of Israel manager Of a company based in Germany. My job is to prepare him for an inter-company, Personal interview/written test coming up in the beginning of May, 2007. He will be Interviewed by the company's personnel department. His spoken English and vocabulary are excellent; his weak point is putting his thoughts into intelligible writing. I have already taught him sentence construction and basics of language as well as Many other finer points of Engliish usage which he missed because he has always depended on his secretary to do the writing for him! Tomorrow, I am going to be teaching him how to incorporate gerunds into sentences. I am now looking for typical questions that employers might ask in a job interview of the above sort, to which he will need to formulate a written answer. These questions would involve thoughtful consideration as well as a well-constructed answer in English, such as: "1) How does _________Israel plan to deal with situations such as happened last Summer 2006, in which our company had deadlines to meet and there was a war raging . How do you plan to meet manufacturing deadlines when employee attendance is spotty?" Your input is great! (Thanks for your help with the Oral Bagrut prep. and army terms. I have tried to send it but unfortunately the Word document got corrupted and I don't seem to be able to send it as is. When I figure out how to do it, I'll send it to the ETNI list.) Hope to hear from you soon— Margie Margaret A. Cohen-Jackel (972) 77-9330695 home (972) 522-937800 cellular -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
