Subject: So what if we forgot to get the gmul form...?
 From: "Elana Singer" <elana23@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

I'm writing to express disappointment and frustration at the fact that
after
pre-registering for the conference, rushing in in the morning after
sitting
in the traffic on the highway, grabbing my kit and proceeding to
session
after session, meeting colleagues to choose books, etc. when I showed
up at
the gmul reg. desk at 4:45 it turned out that I had omitted to pick up
a
gmul form. The two ETAI representatives at the desk absolutely refused
to
give forms to myself or the other few teachers who had made the same
mistake. SO WHAT if we forgot? Surely there is some room for
flexibility?
The fact that we were at the conference could be easily proven. Surely
the
ETAI rep's could have shown a little leniency towards teachers who paid
the
money, made the effort, organized their lives in order to take off
three
full days, and attended dutifully?? Surely we deserve to get the hours
towards a gmul? I was told that of course extra forms were there,
but we
couldn't have one. If it had been the second day of the conference, I
would
understand, but it was the first of three days. Why could that
precious
form not be put in the kit for those who registered in advance for the
whole
conference? I feel very resentful and if the ETAI rep's feel that they
were
just upholding "the law", I think justice was definitely not done. Is
there
any way to remedy this situation? Elana
