A colleague and I are working on a manual for novice EFL teachers
entering the Israeli secondary school system. It is our final project
for a Jerusalem Mentoring Hishtalmut (which by the way I recommend). It
is a collection of useful tips that may make that first year of
teaching less stressful. I was wondering if anyone out there wants to
contribute any tips of their own. Then we can post the final product on ETNI.
To
give a few examples of the kind of tips we are looking for:
Check all photocopies before handing them out in class. Make sure there
are no pages missing and that nothing has been cut off.
If possible, obtain two copies of all textbooks you use so that one
copy can stay at home, and one copy at school. This will save your back!
Make sure you register for your sabbatical saving fund before December
31st otherwise you will lose your first year of benefits.
And so on....
