Sorry, I really must disagree with Marlene about family, meaning relatives, being plural. The word relatives is plural as is cousins, but the word family is always in the singular. My cousins live in Canada , my family lives in Canada. Would you say, My family is in Canada.? Yes. But would you say , My family are in Canada.? No. But of course you would say My cousins are in Canada or my relatives are in Canada. It's amazing what we have time for during this strike! BTW, today we have officially (it was in the newspapers) become the longest education strike in the history of the country. Are we supposed to be proud or excited that the government cares so little about its future???
