Grace Paley: Collected Shorts is director Lilly Rivlin’s (Can You Hear
Me, JFF 2006, Gimme a Kiss, JFF 2001), intimate and artistic portrait
of Grace Paley – the self-described “combative pacifist” whose work is
known to us through her acclaimed poems, stories, and political and
social activism. Rivlin’s film traces the life of this extraordinary
writer and her steadfast commitment to injustice in all its forms.
Interviews with family, friends, students, and colleagues are
interwoven with rare archival footage and stills.
Discussion following the screening with Director Lilly Rivlin and
Professor Sidra DeKoven Ezrahi.
