Our offer of free English teaching software for speakers of Hebrew is
now extended until the end of the year.
This software teaches English vocabulary and grammar from the
beginner's level through high school. You can have a site license,
which allows you to install the programs on all the computers at your
school without limit. And the site license is
unlimited in time. The price is zero. It's a freebee -- that's
all! There are no strings attached.
There are two programs: English for Beginners (55 lessons), which
teaches from the zero level to about the end of kita heh. It
includes the ABC -- taught by visual mnemonics. (This is the
controversial method which has been discussed on this forum. But if
you are not in favor, you can just not use that part of the program.)
The program teaches the 300 most basic words and elementary
grammar. The second program is English for School (118 lessons) goes
from about kita vav to yud bet. It teaches the 5000 most frequent
words and reviews basic grammar. This program was approved by the
Ministry of Education in an earlier version.You can download the
software from my web site at www.english4students.com. That's a trial
version, which is limited in the number of accessible lessons. You
will need access codes to get into all of the lessons. Just e-mail
me at lewisl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, and I will send you the access codes
at no charge. The access codes convert the trial version into a full
version. You will need one code for each work station in your
school's computer lab.
I suggest that you download the program, and check it out. So e-mail
me and request an access code for YOU. Then decide if your pupils
could benefit from this resource. If the answer is yes, then you
should also have the approval of your head of department or
headmaster. Then e-mail me and I will send you as many codes as you
need for your school. You could use it as a part of your teaching
routine, or you could just make the software available for
self-access learning at your school. It's up to you.
By the way, our version for speakers of Arabic will be available very
shortly. It will be also be free -- for a limited time. Watch for it
to be announced on ETNI.
