Subject: A RECENT SONG WITH LOTS OF BASIC TENSES

DEAR fello workers and lurkers,

As we get older it gets harder and harder to keep up with current hits.

I never got used to the music of the 80's, and don't get me started on Hip Hop or whatever that pornographic grunting is called. Meanwhile my pupils who did Bagrut in 82 are now the parents that i phone up to complain about their kids to.

If you do a lesson based on a hit song by Guns and Roses or Frankie goes to Hollywood, forget it. They just stare, where only last week, that's what they idolized. ( I'm not talking about classics that last forever, but choices made from what the kids demand.)

So here is a song by somebody named Kelly Clarkson, with a lot of basic tenses.

She sings, too.

And she doesn't mention pantomime or even allude to the 'F' word. (fondle?)

Barry

(note to David Etni: Should I attach the song itself? Is that criminal activity? or what? )

You Found Me / Kelly Clarkson

Is this a dream?
If it is Please don't wake me from this high
I'd become comfortably numb
Until you opened up my eyes To what it's like
When everything's right I can't believe

    You found me
When no one else was lookin'
How did you know just where I would be?
Yeah, you broke through All of my confusion
The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave
I guess that you saw what nobody could see
You found me You found me

So, here we are
That's pretty far
When you think of where we've been
No going back
I'm fading out
All that has faded me within
You're by my side
Now everything's fine
I can't believe
           You found me…
And I was hiding 'Til you came along
And showed me where I belong
You found me
When no one else was lookin'
How did you know? How did you know?
         You found me…
