Subject: Accommodations for ETAI Summer Conference in Jerusalem

Dear ETNIers,

There are still rooms available for those who wish to stay overnight in
Jerusalem during the ETAI Summer Conference on July 6-7th.
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Bayit Vegan Guest House, where last
year's conference was held, and the Guest House is only a five-minute walk
away from this year's conference venue, Himmelfarb High School.

Here are the prices at the Guest House, which include breakfast and tax:

Single rooms - 300 NIS
Double rooms - 390 NIS (for two people)
Triple rooms - 505 NIS

If you are interested in reserving a room, please contact me and I'll give
you the information. It's always fun to spend a night away from home, with
friends and colleagues from ETAI!

We are in the final throes of organizing the Summer Conference, and you can
see the program on our website: www.etni.org.il/etai/
This year's theme is, "Diversity in the Classroom", which covers a great
variety of topics, from meeting the needs of weak learners to improving
reading skills to teaching literature according to the new guidelines.

Here are some of the conference highlights:

Opening plenary by Prof. Ramon Lewis, "Teachers' Coping Styles as Mediators
of Teachers' Classroom Management"
In additon to his opening talk, Prof. Lewis will be leading two 90 minute
workshops during the conference.

Keynote speakers:
Elisheva Barkon, "Bark on About reading Fluency"
Yirmi Stavisky, "Pluralistic Religious Education: Is It Possible?"
Maryln Appelbaum, "49 Ways to Handle Hard-to-Handle Students"

Dr Judy Steiner will be speaking on the topic, "The New Literature Program:
What, When, Why and How"

Special events will include a jazz concert, a film, and two round table
discussions:
"The Merits (or Demerits) of HOTS"
"What's the Best Age to Start Learning English?"

For more information, call us or send an email message!

Hoping to hear from you soon,
Marna Snyder
