Subject: Announcing the English Teacher's Award
Dear English Teachers,
I have listened to many teachers tell me about their work as teachers.
Over and over again, I have been deeply impressed with their dedication,
with their vision of how they see themselves as teachers, and with their
sincere concern about their role as educators and the opportunity they have
been given to educate a future generation. As Chief Inspector for English
Language Education, I want to acknowledge these outstanding teachers. As a
representative of the Ministry of Education, I want teachers to know how
much their significant work is valued. I cannot increase teachers' salaries
and I cannot provide them with extra benefits, but I can recognize their
contribution to education.
I am very proud and happy to announce that this year teachers' awards will
be given to three outstanding teachers who have created learning
opportunities for their pupils. I hope that in this small way, the English
Inspectorate can demonstrate their recognition and appreciation of the
wonderful work of English teachers.

the Director General's Bulletin September 2005 or at www.anglit.net
Keep up the wonderful work you are doing and please know how important and
valued it is.
