Dear Readers,
While preparing a response to a query about English Usage
(see yesterday's Fix/Repair string) I was alarmed that the words
I was typing were suddenly, with no warning, highlighted in blue.
I immediately panicked and as I usually do when I encounter
technical difficulties, I called on YOU to offer assistance.
Boy, was my face blue when I opened today's mail and found
that my letter appeared in regular black and white.
As we all know but often forget, ETNI mail uses simple,
not - rich text and any wild fonts, colours, and curlicues that we
may include in our letters just disappear.
So rather than have you share in my blue text anxiety, I just
ended up looking silly.
What a novel sensation.
Just to show you that I still care, I have attached the original
letter with it's blueness to show you that I was serious, and
in his copious free time, David L can stick it up in the
"Northern Explosure" column.

As an extra prize, i have put in a picture of Country Joe and
the Fish on their "Fixin' To Die" album. I know; most of you
are too young. but Hey.
Have a nice heat wave. I just cleaned and painted our roof
white, so I am now sunburned, snowblind and covered with
white spots over the blue spots. I'm blue and white and red all over.
But it's much cooler in here. come visit.
