----- Original Message ----- From: Judy Givati - jesg50@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Demostration in Kikar Tzion last Friday On Fri morn the Nissuy Jr.-Sr High held a demonstration at Kikar Tzion and the Midrachov. The university also had a protest goin so there were a lot of people. With plastic horns, whistles, drums and signs we marched up and down the street. I had a sign "If you can read this, thank your English teacher.".. (Thank you to whoever first used this slogan and to Rafi Beigel who made my sign ) I split off from the "crowd" and took off on sidestreets where there were lots of younger people. I stopped in front of them, not saying anything..some people who couldn't read thought I was panhandling.....some gave me money!!! BUt many read the sign (or tried to) ...most understood the sign and smiled..Whenever I saw they stopped to read I said "Your welcome" and almost always got a smile.. A few laughed and said.."Thank you ,Judy".. It turned out to be former students!!! and one English teacher,,Good to see you, Jack!! Anyway, if any of you are carrying this sign it really is important to stop in front of people and get them to read it..and saying "Your Welcome" really is powerful!!! Monday from 10 to 2 the Nissuy will be having classes in the students' "rotest tent " at Gan Vradim" jesg ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - www.etni.org ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
