You're right, of course, Louise -- but isn't securing a decent base salary
one of the primary reasons we pay union dues?
BTW, can anyone explain the (tangible) benefits of union membership?
Surely, no one considers the limited annual 400 shekel (Irgun) "gift"
voucher to be an incentive. (Personally, I'd rather they leave that amount
in my paycheck for me to do as I please, wherever and whenever I so desire!)
Our complaints should be directed to the unions, who are supposed to be
working for us. However, if trying to get through to them is as taxing as
my recent experience has been with the Keren Hishtalmut, I figure I'll be
out of the system before it gets any better!
Still, if anyone has refreshing ideas about how we might get heard, please
post them on ETNI.
