I was once told a story about a teacher who told her class that they were
going to work under the honour system. She handed out the tests and then
left the pupils alone. When she came back, she found that the pupils were
talking and cheating. she said: "but I told you we were working under the
'honour system".
they said: Yes, we know.: You have the honour and we have the system!!"
Since then, whenever I leave the classroom for any reason, I tell my pupils
the story and it seems to work and they don't cheat.
