I want to thank Doron for posting the fantastic film about Mr. Kanamori in Japan. It was extremely moving. His is a classroom for LIFE, not for pouring facts into fourth grade "brains." I found it so poignant. As with all the remarkable films based on the lives of real teachers, we see in this film a man with uncompromising principles, yet at the same time flexible when the need arises. Primarily though, we see a teacher with tremendous love and affection for his pupils. If figuring out last minute Tziyunim Shanatiim (thanks for all the folks who stressed the real meaning of the so-called "magen" grade,) do yourselves a favor and take the time to watch all 5 parts of this beautiful film. I wish someone could get it translated into Hebrew. There's a great deal about Education to be learned from this story. Esther Revivo I cut and pasted the link: A moving documentary of an inspiring teacher. Watch all five episodes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=armP8TfS9Is&feature=related ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
