I have an English speaker preparing to do F and G. He has
dispenations for level 1 and 2 (whatever that means)..
He has not been granted dispensation to ignore spelling mistakes.
He is extremely capable but his written work suggests to me that
something is wrong..switches letters, can't seem to catch on to
even basic spelling, doesn't usually discover spelling mistakes
when it's pointed out to him!!!
The school advisor says that in order to get the spelling
dispensation he needs to be completely retested plus do extra
testing for level 3 with licensed psychologist ...which is
apparently extemely expensive..... but his parents don't
want him to do poorly on F and G
The question..finally....are the number of points that he stands to lose on each ( F and G) so significant that it is vital he be retested ?
I want to present his parents with all the information so that they can make a well-informed decision.
