----- Original Message ----- From: "Barry Silverberg" <barisil@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: One set of shoulders In response to postings about double misrot and/or work loads: I have always had to do 'chalturot' to beat the system; private lessons are scarce here in the something -for- nothing periphery, but there were always Matnassim, a few factories, special projects, and lots of refundable cans and bottles. I drew the line at doing the English homework for U of Latvia. Anyway, however hard it was, I always had partner to share the load with. Let me take a moment, with my kippa over my heart, to praise those single parents, usually moms like Laurie, who have to do all this and manage a family BY THEMSELVES! Never able to say, 'you handle this, i'm beat, or go to your father ( or whatever).' There are a lot of English teachers in this situation, and I'm willing to chip in for a summer camp for them.
