Subject: Please help with your prayers

Dear friends, supporters and volunteers of the Books for Israel Project

To each and all of you whom we have worked with since the "B4i" effort began, if you are able please now to join us in praying for the complete recovery of my sister and Books for Israel's Co-Founder, Yehudit Bat Shira, Jade Bar-Shalom, we will be very grateful.

I am writing this message from the USA, but Israel is 8 hours ahead of us and it is Friday morning August 5th where I just spoke with Ilan, Jade's wonderful husband, who has worked so hard to help keep the Project going since we began it in the fall of 2002, and her beautiful son, Aylam, who is just 18. They have been at the hospital to be near Jade's side all night, and in a little while, they will have to tell the twin 14 year old
girls, Zohar and Dovraht, that their mom is very seriously ill. Jade has been discovered to have a brain tumor and the doctors at Rambam hospital are trying to work through a treatment strategy as I am writing this. It is very likely that she will be operated on today. Ilan asked that I write to everyone and ask for your prayers. He said, "We need everyone to put
out a big prayer. My prayers are too small." I promised him that I would ask, and I would also like you to know that my family and I are very grateful for your help.

I am leaving tomorrow for Israel, having just been there a little
over a week ago. It was such a short visit, but so very special to all together. I wish it were different, happier circumstances that were calling me back so soon. I hope that anyone who sent me mail while I was away on my last visit and didn't get a prompt response will forgive me, and I hope that anyone who writes over the next several days will also understand that we may not be able to get back to them quickly, but we have every hope, every wish, of seeing Jade through this and being ready to get Books for Israel into action to help Israel's schools and teachers stand through these difficult times in the coming school year. I will try to check e-mail while in Israel with

Jade and the family, but depending on how things go that may be difficult and my ability to answer may very well be sporadic, so your patience and understanding will be much appreciated.

Last but not least, if you would like to send any words of support for Jade, Ilan and the family, you are very welcome to cc me, and I will be deeply grateful to read your message, but please also do be sure to send it straight through to the Israel-based side of this effort as well, to b4i2002@xxxxxxxxx, which is Jade and Ilan's Books for Israel mailbox.

Many thanks for your help and wishing you, everyone in Israel, and all good people everywhere, true peace. - Rena
