Therefore, the universities saw both.If students worked hard, etc, their report grades were higher than the grades they received on the regents and the universities would be able to decide where they put their focus etc.. When the bagrut was 3 hours, we gave at least two matconets during the year (usually 3-4) and I gave those exams more weight than the shorter exams during the year.. Now, with the modules, I give many bagrut exams as tests and have many grades and as a result, I can get a good picture of the level of the student. Because of this, I don't count the test before the actual bagrut as a matconet, as the other tests have the same weight as far as I'm concerned. I tell my students that I will erase one or two of their lowest marks, if they come for all the exams. I still believe we should do away with this "magen" grade. We all know that there are teachers who really give fair grades and those who give super low or super high grades. This makes the whole system unreliable and makes the whole thing a big joke- not to mention the amount of time, effort and aggravation we all go through under the best of circumstances, even if we don't experience those horrible incidents we have seen and read/heard about. I am not optimistc that anything concrete will be done about it. On that "positive" note, have a great day!
