Dear English Teachers,
I so often hear from veteran English teachers that ETAI has nothing to offer
them anymore. This saddens me, because this tells me that this teacher has a
job and not a profession. I have been in the teaching profession for quite a
few years and ETAI always offers me something. This year I was blown away by
Elisheva Barkon's talk. In addition to food for thought, it gave me some
specific practical ideas to carry out in my classroom. In the corridor
during the break, I related my excitement to Mitzi Gefen (elected vice chair
at the conference.. congratulations!) and she gave me another classroom idea
connected to Elisheva's talk.
I am telling you this with the hope that some veteran teacher who has not
been to ETAI for a while will rethink and rejoin the community of developing
professionals who attend ETAI!
